This church was pastored by my dad, Howard Hoschar, from 1950 to 1963 when we moved away. Since it has set idle but I (his daughter) am told is cherished by those who live on the Ridge. The church was founded in 1922 and last time I was there the sign Dad painted was still over the door, Gillispie Chapel 1922. It was begun by the denomination Household of Faith and the property was owned by Mr. Beerbower who lived to the left of the church. I remember it well as a child when it was a thriving, loving, healthy little country church. I intended to purchase it and its land in '93 from a descendent who had inherited it, but family tragedy caused that not to happen. It still is a very treasured place to us, and to so many who have attended there over the years. Karen (Hoschar) Lewis
